This free webinar aims to provide an up-to-date overview of advanced multidisciplinary perioperative care and assist in understanding the impact of comorbidities, advanced age, and the scope for interdisciplinary work to improve patient outcomes.

Our multidisciplinary speakers include anaesthetists, surgeons and geriatricians with expert knowledge of their topics. This is a great opportunity for all interdisciplinary team members, trainees as well as those hoping to develop further learning.

During this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Gain knowledge of prehabilitation as a tool for improving preoperative health and patient outcomes, and how to implement it in a clinical setting
  • Know the impact of older age on trauma, how optimising perioperative care can improve patient outcomes, and how to implement it in a clinical setting
  • Be aware of the multidisciplinary input, stakeholder involvement and interdisciplinary working required in perioperative care
  • Understand the impact of frailty and common comorbidities in older patients on perioperative outcomes, and how to manage and optimise 
  • Learn of current training in perioperative medicine and free perioperative education resources available for further learning
